Without Christ being the motivation of all we do we are doomed to produce nothing of true value. He is the one we model our lives after and so He is the one all of other values must be derived from. Keeping Christ as the center of our lives prevents our pursuits from revolving around the promoting of self, and enables us to be purposeful and productive.
God has always had a heart for the generations and generational transfer is the very means by which He determined His purposes to be extended throughout time Generational transfer is an issue of the heart. It enables us to embrace the responsibility to impart to the generations to come the life and deposit of Christ given to us by preceding generations.
The students in the Master’s Commission don’t live in dormitories but stay in host homes. God’s plan from the beginning was that His truth was to be taught and lived out in the context of families. The students are surrounded by spiritual mothers and fathers who speak identity into them and provide a safe place to grow. As they learn to become mature sons and daughters, relationships in their own families are impacted and blessed.
God’s pattern for maturity has always involved the need for mentors and those willing to be mentored. A discipleship relationship enables life purpose and destiny to be discovered and defined. The pattern of discipleship provides the context for accountability, self-discipline, and spiritual authority.
Walking in right relationship with God and with His people means being people of covenant. People of covenant walk openly before each other and God, establishing relationships that are built on firm principles and agreements that will last a lifetime.
What we build with our giftings can easily be destroyed with our lack of character. As Christ’s life and character is the pattern for us to follow, the Master’s Commission is committed to training up those who live lives of service, love, sacrifice, faith, obedience, and genuine joy.
Everything we do is to be done with all of our might and unto the Lord. Therefore we endeavor to be those whose excellence in work ethic and passion for evangelism represent Christ accurately.
Those who serve, lead, and are given positions of increasing influence. Leadership training is accomplished in the Master’s Commission through practicing servant hood and laying down ones life for their friends.
There is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to death and a lack of fruit. God has a way for us to live and He has given us His word, His Holy Spirit and each other to discover it. His way makes it possible to live fruitful lives that are Spirit-led, undistracted in our devotion to Christ. We seek His way so that we can walk in His enabling grace and live lives of holiness and righteousness as unto Him.

The “Master’s Commission, A Generational Call To Character” is not just another church program. It is a “one year, put your life on hold, give everything you have” adventure that will radically change the way you look at the purpose of your life. It is not a reform school or a ministry training school.
It is a year to focus entirely upon God and your relationship with Him and allow Him access to every area of your life. It is not for those who want to become better Christians but for those who want to become effective tools in the hand of their God no matter where He calls them. It is for those men and women between the ages of 18 and 25 who earnestly desire to be...
“Vessels of Honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work” ~ II Timothy 2:21
The Master’s Commission, A Generational Call To Character, began in Spokane, Washington in 1990. It was a pastor’s response to a call from God to capture the heart of the next generation. That pastor was Steve Allen of Harvest Christian Fellowship.
He heard a warning from God that the possibility of losing his church hinged on whether the next generation were going to follow God or go their own way. Pastor Steve established a call to his young adults on the foundation of a radical pursuit of Christ and the joining of the generations to accomplish the purposes of God. That vision has now grown into a network of programs that span the United States and are being established in the nations.
In 2002 Pastor Steve Allen passed the responsibility of stewarding this vision and the network to Pastor Norm Willis of Christ Church Kirkland in Kirkland, Washington. The network of eleven programs is going strong and continuing to pursue the vision of “The Master’s Commission, A Generational Call To Character.”
